Safety Tips for Industries
Do’s
- Handle cylinders vertically.
- Ensure the rubber O-ring in the adapter is intact; check if the cylinder valve is functional.
- Slowly open the valve regulator after connecting the adapter.
- Use FPL-type light fixtures in the LPG area.
- Clean the filters and strainers of the installation every six months.
- Ensure all flameproof electrical connections have appropriate terminations.
- Keep two 10Kg DCP fire extinguishers at a convenient height for easy access.
- Open all valves of the active gas bank for uniform withdrawal.
- Position cylinders to avoid tension on the hose and joints.
- Keep the LPG bank area clean, dry, and free from vegetation or flammable materials.
- Maintain ventilation and ensure the area is protected from direct sunlight, flames, and heat sources.
- Use appropriate PPE such as safety goggles, shoes, gloves, and helmets.
- In case of leakage, stop operations, use a safety cap, and move the cylinder to an open space.
Don’ts
- Do not wear synthetic clothing inside the premises.
- Avoid moving cylinders while valves are connected to the manifold.
- Do not store flammable materials such as wood or plastic in the LPG area.
- Avoid leaving LPG-filled cylinders unconnected to the manifold.
- Do not expose cylinders to sun, rain, or extreme heat.
- Prohibit items causing sparks, including mobile phones, matches, and explosives, inside the LPG area.
- Do not perform welding or gas cutting in the LPG area with cylinders present.
